2022 Walt Disney World vacation packages were released this morning! This is earlier than usual, as they are typically released in June for the following year! So this is exciting news for those of us who are eager to look ahead and for those people still uneasy about traveling in 2021.
Dates
Booking is currently open for all dates from today through check in on July 1, 2022. This is a HUGE range of options for anyone thinking about a vacation for the summer and most school vacations deep into next year. But keep checking in with your travel planner, as dates are expected to continue opening up deeper into 2022. Get your calendars out and let’s start planning your 2021 or 2022 Walt Disney World vacation!
Why should I book now?
There are several answers to this questions. First and foremost, booking early ensures that you are locked into the current ticket and resort prices. We know from experience (and history) that Disney increases their ticket prices every year. When you book your vacation, you are guaranteeing that your price will not be effected by any increases. Booking right when packages are released also ensures that you are able to select your resort based on preference rather than based on availability. This is a little bit different this time around as Disney has not yet reopened all of their resorts on property since closing them due to COVID back in March 2020. This makes it even more important to book early so that you can guarantee that you are able to secure the resort you’d prefer among the ones that are open now. We anticipate availability to change as we move closer to 2022 and as Disney begins to reopen more resorts. Keep in mind, then, that you are able to change resorts at any time with no fee.
Other Factors
Some other important considerations when taking advantage of these historically early booking window:
- Packages still only require a $200 deposit which is fully refundable up until 30 days prior to travel.
- Final payment is not due until 30 days prior to check-in. This makes it easy and convenient to set up payment plans with your travel agent
- Dining Plans remain unavailable at this time for 2021 and 2022 vacation packages
- Park reservations continue to be required for all bookings in 2021 and 2022 (as well as into 2023 currently)
- Club Level room categories are still not available for booking
- Not all resorts are available for booking still
The best advice we can offer right now, is to use a travel planner (such as Kingdom and Cruise Travel) to book your vacation. They can help you make changes to your package as more perks (such as dining plans or preferred resorts) are reintroduced. Making changes to your booking is absolutely possible, whether it is a change to your 2021 or 2022 Walt Disney World vacation packages. We are even able to apply promotions or discounts to your package should they become available after booking. With flexible change and cancellation policies, the ability to spread payments out over time and the ability to add to or make changes to your package as new perks become available, why not get those endorphins working by booking your next Walt Disney World vacation!
