As a travel agent, I’ve had the joy of planning many different types of vacations, from family Disney trips to cruises, and even unforgettable journeys to Spain. However, some of my most memorable experiences come from helping families plan multigenerational vacations—those trips where grandparents, parents, and kids come together to create lifelong memories.
Last year, I had the privilege of taking my extended family, including my 85-year-old grandmother, to Disney. It was a magical experience that allowed me to reflect on all the Disney trips I’d shared with my grandparents as a child. Those trips, filled with joy and adventure, likely contributed to my professional passion for travel. But beyond the nostalgia, it was simply wonderful to spend precious time with the people I love most.
A Flexible Stay to Suit Everyone’s Needs
Our trip was split into two parts. The first part of our stay was at an AirBnB. Yes, did you know that Kingdom and Cruise can help you book many hotels and AirBnBs through our trusted travel partners? It was the perfect place for our family to settle in and start our adventure.
The second part of our trip took us to the Boardwalk area resorts at Disney. My family stayed at our favorite resort, the Beach Club, while part of the family stayed at the Walt Disney World Dolphin, and the others at the Walt Disney World Swan. One of the best things about the Boardwalk area is how all the resorts are within walking distance of each other. This allowed us to pick the accommodations that worked best for our individual families while still being close enough to share the experience together. Your Kingdom and Cruise Travel Agent can also book your Marriott Bonvoy stay such as the Swan or Dolphin, so you can continue to earn your nights and status! We are truly your full-service travel agency for life.

Traveling Flexibly with a Big Family
One of the key lessons we learned is how flexible Disney trips can be when traveling with a large family, especially when you set the right expectations. It’s important to recognize that you don’t have to eat every meal together or ride every ride together. By allowing for some space and flexibility, we were able to enjoy each other’s company while still having time to rest and recharge.
Let’s face it, even the people we love the most sometimes need a little break! Giving each other space and time to do what we enjoy, without feeling like we have to be in sync at all times, made the experience more enjoyable for everyone.
Accommodating Every Need
Traveling with a big family also means accommodating everyone’s needs. My grandmother, for instance, required a wheelchair throughout our stay. Disney is incredibly accommodating, and so are we at Kingdom and Cruise. We helped arrange a wheelchair for my grandmother, as well as a stroller for my five-year-old, which was a lifesaver during those long Disney days.
With the right planning, we were able to ensure that each member of our family had everything they needed to make the trip more enjoyable and accessible. Disney offers so many options to make family travel easier, and we at Kingdom and Cruise are here to help you navigate them!

Creating Magical Memories Together
Looking back, I can’t help but cherish the memories we made together: seeing my grandmother’s face light up as she experienced the magic of Disney again, watching my kids bond with their grandparents, and simply spending quality time with the people who mean the most to me. What better gift could we give each other than the chance to share those precious moments?
