Since COVID-19 closed the US theme parks in March 2020, we’ve seen slow steps forward to return to pre-pandemic normalcy. In this latest, most exciting step, non-distanced character meet and greets will officially return to Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line and Aulani Resort in Hawaii beginning April 18th. Disney Parks released yesterday a new teaser TikTok video of Mickey Mouse ready for hugs!
This return to pre-pandemic character meets has been slow to come. Character dining returned to select locations in a modified way pretty early on. More recently, princess meet and greets returned to Fairytale Hall in the Magic Kingdom in October. Mickey and friends slowly returned for scheduled indoor meets in Town Hall as well as in Hollywood Studios. These character visits have been socially distant since their return. With the return of non-distanced character meet and greets, this will be the first time that guests will be able to hug Mickey since March 2020 and we couldn’t be more thrilled!
