What?!?!
Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park plan to reopen on April 30! The OG is finally coming back to life! We can’t contain our excitement. We’ve heard from so many of you who are eager to return, so we put together a list of everything you need to know about Disneyland’s Reopening.
Who
When Disneyland Resort ropes drop on April 30, only California residents may visit the parks, and in groups no larger than 3 households, in line with current state guidelines.
Disney has not yet released their plan for expanding admission to non-California guests. Rest assured, we will follow very closely for more details. In the meantime, here is what we do know about Disneyland’s Reopening.
How
Capacity will be limited. Enhanced health and safety measures will be in place. And a park reservation system will require all guests to obtain a reservation in advance.
Upon reopening, daily park hours for Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park are currently planned to be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Note these hours are highly subject to change. Always check the app or Disneyland.com for current info.
Theme Park Reservations:
Much like with the Park Pass Reservation system in place at Walt Disney World Resort, guests ages 3 and up will be required to have valid admission ticket AND theme park reservation for one of the two parks. Both must be pre-scheduled for the date of your visit.
Guests with Park Hopper tickets may choose, pending availability, which theme park to start their day when making their theme park reservations. They will be able to visit the other park beginning at 1 p.m. A similar system has been on place at Walt Disney World, and though some of us had our doubts, it has worked well.
Guests with multi-day tickets will be required to make a separate park reservation for each day they plan to visit the theme parks.
Before you can make a theme park reservation, guests you must have already purchased your ticket(s).
When
- April 9: Guests who currently hold a theme park ticket can check available days for 1-day ticket type beginning April 9 on Disneyland.com/ParksUpdates. This means if you already have a valid ticket, you will be able to see which days are available, but you will not be able to book yet.
- April 12: At 8am PT, the theme park reservation system will launch. Guests with existing valid theme park tickets can begin making park reservations for the days that their ticket is valid. So, at this time, guests who already have valid theme park tickets may begin making park reservations.
- April 15: Theme park ticket sales will resume no earlier than 8 a.m. PT. Guests without park tickets may begin purchasing tickets and making park reservations.
Details
Parking: Theme park parking will be available at the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking structures, located off Disneyland Drive.
Dining: For a contactless and cashless experience, mobile order on the Disneyland App. It makes it easy to plan ahead, order, and pay for food and beverages at most quick service restaurants inside the theme parks.
On April 22, Disneyland will plan to reopen dining bookings for select locations on April 22, with limited capacity. Guests will be able to book dining reservation 60 days in advance on Disneyland.com or with the Disneyland App, subject to availability.
Special Considerations
If you are a California Resident planning to visit the theme parks during a stay at Grand Californian, we recommend you get theme park reservation prior to making a hotel reservation. A hotel stay does not guarantee a theme park reservation. For room reservations and travel packages, Disney recommends you contact your travel professional (that’s us) starting April 15 for stays beginning April 29. Theme park reservations will need to be made separately. We are happy to help.
We know everyone is excited to see Disneyland welcome guests once again, but please remember that right now, only California residents will have access to ticket sales and reservations. For those of us in other parts of the world, now is a great time to get on our list for planning services. We continue to monitor the news for the first opportunity to start planning vacations at Disneyland Resort for everyone.
Wherever you live, with things changing quickly and often, you will be glad to have an expert sharing everything you will need to know about Disneyland’s reopening.
