10 Reasons to Visit Disneyland Paris plus tips!

1. Once you’re in Paris, it is SO easy to get there!

You might be worried that a trip to this park will totally derail your European vacation and that without a car, it won’t be feasible.
However, Disneyland Paris has made it very convenient for you to get there!  They have a train station just a TWO minute walk from the entrance of the park! RER A city trains travel from central Paris to Disneyland throughout the day every 15 minutes from five large central Paris RER A Stations: Charles de Gaulle Etoile (at Arc de Triomphe), Auber (at Galeries Lafayette shopping center), Chatelet Les Halles (massive underground shopping centre and largest underground/subway station in the world), Gare de Lyon (largest Paris train station), and Nation. A one way ticket costs just 5 Euro per person!
TIP: The Disneyland Paris station is out of zone for some of the metro passes sold.  Be sure to purchase a ticket separate from a Paris metro pass.
There’s no way to be confused about which stop to get off the train – Disneyland Paris is the last stop on this line!
If you are arriving to Charles de Gaulle Airport, Disneyland Paris has you covered! Take a 12 minute ride on the high speed TGV train (located in Terminal 2) to the same Disneyland Paris train station!
Disneyland Paris will even take your luggage at the train station and bring it to your hotel!

Another option is a shuttle bus from Paris airports! Your Kingdom and Cruise travel agent can add shuttle and express luggage services for you when booking!

2. Walkability!

If you have been to Walt Disney World in Florida, you know you put your steps in there! Also, WDW parks are spread out and you need to take a bus, a monorail or the Skyliner to get from one park to another.  Disneyland Paris has just 2 parks: Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios (the smallest Disney park!). They are adjacent to one another and like at Disneyland in Anaheim, you can leave one and be at the entrance of the other in less than a minute!

Even the Disneyland Paris hotels and Disney Village with shopping and restaurants are all within walking distance of one another.

3. The Price is Right!

Prices for Walt Disney World are pretty high even when choosing a Disney value resort like All Star Sports. You may be surprised that Disneyland Paris resort and ticket packages are comparatively affordable!  Their packages are bundled so your Disney resort nights and ticket days (including the park hopper option) are already set.  For example, purchase a 2 night/3 day ticket package, or a 3 night/4 day ticket package…and so on. For peak summer season, a family of 4 can get a 2 night 3 day ticket package with park hoppers staying at the Disney Newport Bay Club for about 2k USD!

Disney Newport Bay Club is a nautical-themed moderately priced Disneyland Paris Hotel within a 15 minute walk to the parks!

4. Character Meet and Greets IN your Disney Hotel!

Guests staying at Disneyland Paris hotels have access to exclusive character experiences, including meeting Disney, Pixar, or Marvel characters at their hotels.  Mickey and Minnie frequent Disney Newport Bay Club. Marvel characters regularly meet guests at Hotel New York and guests of Hotel Cheyenne can meet Woody and Jessie!
Hotel character meet and greets are unique to Disneyland Paris!

5. Exclusive Ride Experiences!

Visiting Disneyland Paris will be a completely unique experience.   Don’t make the mistake of thinking, “If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all.”  You will find rides not in any other Disney park – like Crush’s Coaster! This ride is themed after Finding Nemo’s favorite surfer dude sea turtle, Crush.  Remember that scene where Marlin catches the East Australia Current with Crush? Get ready and “Grab shell, dude!”
You sit in a shell for Crush’s Coaster in Disneyland Paris – and the rest is a surprise! It’s our fave!
Not only are there some exclusive rides, but some of the “same” rides are actually quite different!  Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain goes upside down in Disneyland Paris.  The most incredible version Big Thunder Mountain is at this park! It goes through a tunnel underground and the rest of the ride takes place on an island! Even Tower of Terror is a little creepier at this park!

6. Exclusive Live Shows and How to See Them!

Disneyland Paris has some of the BEST live shows of all the parks.  Considering its size, it packs a powerful punch of an entertainment lineup.  Get ready to be transported by unique immersive stage experiences.  Current shows include Alice & the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland (with some dazzling stunt displays), Mickey and the Magician (my personal favorite), The Lion King: Rhythm of the Pride Lands, and Together, a Pixar Musical Adventure.

TIP: For select shows, you can purchase “guaranteed seating” on your Disneyland Paris app a week in advance of your trip.  This allows you to stroll up a little later than everyone else (think 15 minutes instead of 45 minutes) and you will be seated first!

The rides are wonderful, but don’t forget the SHOWS at Disneyland Paris! Mickey and the Magician was our favorite!

7. Some of the Best Dining Experiences at any Disney Park

I am ALL about an immersive dining experience.  Of course Disney can deliver an excellent meal, but it’s even more special when it transports you to your favorite Disney movie or leaves you steeped in Disney nostalgia! The BEST immersive dining experience at Disneyland Paris is Bistro Chez Remy in Walt Disney Studios Park.  Get ready for a rat’s eye view in this French restaurant.

Yes, those are giant forks and plates. YOU are rat-sized in this restaurant and it is genius! And delicious!
Another favorite over at the Disneyland Park side was Walt’s on Main Street USA.  This is the only restaurant in all of the Disney parks dedicated to Walt and all his favorite things.  We at in the Discoveryland room, which was full of photos of Walt, art, sketches and even a fireplace with 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea theming.
TIP: Unlike at Disney World where you have to wait until 60 days out, you can make your table reservations through the app as soon as you book your trip!

We were seated in the Discoveryland room with a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea theme!

8. The BEST Nighttime Show at a Disney Park

Disneyland Paris’s nighttime show at Disneyland Park castle combines some of the best elements from shows at other Disney Parks – Fireworks, drones, fountains and projections all set to a beautiful soundtrack.  When you put them all together, it is a mesmerizing and spectacular event! The show begins with 500 drones paying homage to Disney’s Electrical Parade.  This is followed by a 20 minutes fireworks show that is second to none!

TIP: You can gain preferred viewing access by paying 20 Euro per person in your app a week before your vacation starts.  I loved the preferred viewing area.  There was nothing like being front and center for this show.

Yes, those are all drones in formation. What a beautiful sight!

9. Extra Magic Hour for Guest Staying on Disney Property

Disneyland Paris gives you the FULL HOUR, friends!!  Walt Disney World and Disneyland Land used to do this but now they just offer onsite guests a half hour prior to regular park opening time.  This full hour makes a huge difference – especially for those popular rides that you want to get out of the way early in the morning before lines get too long.

Walt Disney Studios Park may be small, but there are several popular attractions here!

TIP: The most popular rides will be Crush’s Coaster, Big Thunder Mountain, Tower of Terror, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, Ratatouille, and Phantom Manor.  Get those done early before regular park guests come in!

10. Disney Premier Access Ultimate

This is like Disney’s Fastpass System on steroids! It is easy. It works. And it has MUCH fewer restrictions than Fastpass, Multipass, Genie+ and all of the systems Disney World has had in place.  Disney’s Ultimate Premier Access can be added when you book your package!  It’s a pay-one-price for a 17 rides pass (for the Ultimate) OR Premier Access One for individual rides during the day! And guess what?!  For the Disney Premier Access Ultimate, there is NO scheduling return times!!  Imagine just strolling up to get in the Lightning Lane whenever you want ALL day (once per ride)?  NO scheduling. NO worrying about availability! It comes with a heftier price tag than Disney’s Multipass, but the peace of mind is worth it!

The Tower of Terror is an included ride in Premier Access Ultimate. Enter the designated lane and spend little to no time waiting!

Those are the 10 Reasons to Visit Disneyland Paris plus invaluable tips!  Have you been to this amazing Disney park?  What were some of your favorite rides, food and shows?  If you haven’t been, don’t wait!  This park is a must for Disney fans!  Reach out to your Kingdom and Cruise travel advisor who can get you set up to have the best vacation!
